I’m thrilled to be directing a developmental reading of Matthew Goldstein’s PURGATORIUM, for Evan Bernardin Productions. We’ll be developing the script this summer, with an industry reading in September. Matthew’s keen ear for contemporary comedy which is both biting and borscht-belt answers the question, “what if Joshua Harmon and Ken Ludwig had an artistic lovechild?” I’m having a great time working with Matthew and EBP.
About the play: When the Kagan family patriarch “dies,” the two sides of this Jewish/Anglican family come together for a funeral…and a reckoning. Like they say: hell is other people—especially when those people are your ferkakta family!
